Your God-given Purpose

7The end of all things is near. You must be self-controlled and alert, to be able to pray. 8Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins. 9Open your homes to each other without complaining. 10Each one, as a good manager of God's different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God. 11Whoever preaches must preach God's messages; whoever serves must serve with the strength that God gives, so that in all things praise may be given to God through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and power for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:7-11

We all have a purpose in this life. We all have been blessed with gifts from God. At the fundamental level, we all are assigned with the purpose to love one another and to serve one another.

It is after we properly establish this for ourselves can we then explore our wider purpose. In what ways will you specifically love others? What has God called you to do now that you understand the core idea?

I believe that many are in pursuit to find this God-given purpose, perhaps unknowingly, because it is something that will help our search for fulfilment. Yes, living in fellowship with Christ brings fulfilment alone, but expressing his love to people around you strengthens it (which is perhaps what true fellowship with Christ is already).

Finding your God-given purpose allows you to wake up every day and 'serve with strength', because you are sure of what you are doing and know that it is good.

And finally, whatever you do, it will bring glory to God, for the love you transmit is the love of Christ.
